My life has revolved around training and working gundogs.

A passion that started as a 9yr old schoolboy in Lancashire led to an 18 year apprenticeship at Willowyck Kennels in the Cotswolds. This apprenticeship taught me every aspect of gun dog training and the many problems that come with it.

In 2007 my wife Sandra and I set up Ribblesdale Labradors near Lechlade-on-Thames. Our primary objective is to produce the best quality Sporting Dogs for the shooting field.

Our working dogs start their season in August on the grouse moors and by the end of the shooting season in February they will have worked upwards of 100 days in the field. The dogs will have been in a variety of situations from big driven days to small “walked up” rough days, picking most types of game available.

If our dogs come through this with no major vices we will only then call them “TRAINED”

These are the type of dogs and bitches we then stand at stud or incorporate in to our breeding programme.
